HISTORY

SHG Studios is a successful, award-winning Indie Game Studios based in Hamilton, Ontario. Active since 2008, SHG builds and markets their own games such as Star Pirates, SpyBattle 2165, and recently Cute Cat RPG. Ultra-long-term retention is the SHG hallmark; “people come for the games, but stay for the community”.


THE CORE TEAM

Colin Ferguson

Game Designer, CEO, Co-Founder

Colin Ferguson is the visionary behind SHG Studios, serving as the Game Designer, CEO, and Founder. With a strong passion for game development and community-focused design, Colin has led SHG Studios to create immersive and engaging casual games. His leadership and innovative approach drive the studio’s success and growth. 

His kitty, Summer, was 19.5-years-old when she passed in Feb 2024. She is remembered every day as she is the Tuxedo kitty logo of Cute Cat RPG!

Igor Nogueira

Software Developer

Igor Nogueira is the main Software Developer at SHG Studios, overseeing the technical development and implementation of the studio’s projects. With a robust background in software engineering, Igor ensures the technical excellence and reliability of SHG Studios’ games, contributing to their high-quality gameplay and performance. 

His kitty Bill, is 9 years old. He doesn’t claim to have his kitty in the logo.

Shawn Hopkins

Art Director

Shawn Hopkins is the Art Director at SHG Studios, bringing a wealth of creativity and experience to the team. His expertise in visual design and artistic direction ensures that SHG Studios’ games are visually stunning and captivating, enhancing the overall player experience. 

His kitty Oreo is 7 years old. He is also a Tuxedo. Shawn says he is also the logo. Colin disagrees. 😛

    Thank you for getting in touch. The Industry Meeting at CHCH was a great way to make contact, I hope they do more.
    I am sure the students from our animation program would be an asset to your company.
    I am not sure how the internship program works at Mohawk, I will try to find out more about it (Hopefully Ken has some info/contacts).
    We had tried using a co-op model for students, but ran into a number of issues with how that was set up, eg. adding a year to the program.
    I do think an internship would work much better, and look forward to see how it would work to everyones benefit.
