Retention of Your Personal Data

SHG stores what we consider as the minimal amount of Your Personal Data to operate the game. The games were built with this in mind, and we continue with this process. The only information that we consider as personal information is your email, last browser and IP addresses. Payment information & analytics is through third party providers.

You may change your username at any time, but you are limited to one account.

We do not use third party cookies, except where absolutely necessary for the functioning of the game.

The Company will retain Your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use Your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

The Company will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of Our Service.

Right Not to be Emailed

In game, we provide you an opportunity to choose to be contacted by us via email or not. This is under settings. You can also adjust your preferences from any newsletter. As a Canadian firm, we abide by CASL (Canada’s anti-spam legislation : https://fightspam.gc.ca/eic/site/030.nsf/eng/home). That said, even if You select not to be emailed, there are times where We may be required to email you (such as a data breach).

Leaving the Game and Deletion of Your Personal Data

We, in general, follow the GDPR of the European Union https://gdpr.eu/right-to-be-forgotten/ customised to the SHG experience.

You are free to leave the game at any time. SHG strongly discourages retirement or “forgetting” of your account. The vast majority of players who have done this strongly regret it. That said, the protocol for deletion & “Right to be Forgotten” is as follows:

If you wish this to be deleted, please raise a ticket in game through the normal ticket mechanic with the subject “Retirement”. You will need to wait 7 days for a “Cool Down Period” before we act upon this. At that point your Personal Data will be erased from the live game. Personal Data is as described in Retention of Your Personal Data above. Offline backups, payment information, and other information held by third parties will not be erased.

Transfer of Your Personal Data

Your information, including Personal Data, is processed at the Company’s operating offices and in any other places where the parties involved in the processing are located. It means that this information may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of Your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those from Your jurisdiction.

Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by Your submission of such information represents Your agreement to that transfer.

The Company will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that Your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and no transfer of Your Personal Data will take place to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of Your data and other personal information.

Disclosure of Your Personal Data

Business Transactions

If the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, Your Personal Data may be transferred. We will provide notice before Your Personal Data is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.

Under certain circumstances, the Company may be required to disclose Your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g. a court or a government agency). This has never occurred to us, and we will answer only to requirements from the Ontario and/or Canadian Government.
